Left Bank Books presents young adult authors Kimberly Derting, Danielle Paige, Kelley Armstrong, and Kiera Cass, who will join for a Q&A panel and book signing as part of the Dark Days Tour on Friday, May 9, 7pm, at the Ethical Society of St. Louis (9001 Clayton Rd.)

Dark Days TourKimberly Derting will discuss her new novel, The Taking (Haper Teen, April 2014). When sixteen-year-old Kyra Agnew wakes up behind a dumpster at the Gas ‘n’ Sip, she has no memory of how she got there. With a terrible headache and a major case of deja vu, she heads home only to discover that five years have passed…yet she hasn’t aged a day. Kyra races to find an explanation and reclaim the life she once had, but what if the life she wants back is not her own?

Kimberly Derting is the author of The Body Finder, Desires of the Dead, The Last Echo, and Dead Silence, which are as much coming-of-age romances as they are paranormal thrillers, as well as the dystopic fantasies The Pledge and The Essence. She lives in the Pacific Northwest, where the gloomy weather is ideal for writing anything dark and creepy.

Danielle Paige will discuss her new novel, Dorothy Must Die (Harper, April 2014). Amy Gumm, the other girl from Kansas, has been recruited by the Revolutionary Order of the Wicked to stop Dorothy, who has found a way to come back to Oz, seizing a power that has gone to her head. She has a mission: Remove the Tin Woodsman’s heart. Steal the Scarecrow’s brain. Take the Lion’s courage. Then, and only then – Dorothy must die!

Danielle Paige is a graduate of Columbia University and currently lives in New York City. Before turning to young adult literature, she worked in the television industry, where she received a Writers Guild of America Award and was nominated for several Daytime Emmys. Dorothy Must Die is her first novel.

Kelley Armstrong will discuss her new novel, Sea of Shadows (HarperCollins, April 2014). Twin sisters Moria and Ashyn were marked at birth to become the Keeper and the Seeker of Edgewood, beginning with their sixteenth birthday. Trained in fighting and in the secret rites of the sprites, they lead an annual trip into the Forest of the Dead. But this year, their trip goes dreadfully wrong.

Kelley Armstrong vowed that someday she’d write a story combining swords, sorcery, and the ravenous undead. That story begins with Sea of Shadows. Armstrong’s first works for teens were the New York Times bestselling Darkest Powers and Darkness Rising trilogies. All of her novels for teens have been New York Times bestsellers. She lives in Ontario with her husband, three children, and far too many pets.

Kiera Cass will discuss the third novel in her Selection series, “The One” (Harper Teen, May 2014). The Selection changed America Singer’s life in ways she never could have imagined. Since she entered the competition to become the next princess of Illea, America has struggled with her feelings for her first love, Aspen – and her growing attraction to Prince Maxon. Now she’s made her choice…and she’s prepared to fight for the future she wants.

Kiera Cass is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Selection series. She is a graduate of Radford University and currently lives in Blacksburg, Virginia, with her family. Kiera has kissed approximately fourteen boys in her life. None of them were princes.
