Left Bank Books presents author Jason Fry, who will sign and discuss his new book, LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary: Updated and Expanded (DK Publishing, May 2014), on Wednesday, May 7, 6:30pm, at Left Bank Books – Downtown (321 N. 10th).

Kids are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite Star Wars characters, and prizes will be awarded. There will also be a LEGO station on hand for kids to practice their building skills.

Join author Jason Fry and members of the Gateway Squad of the 501st Legion, 70th Explorers Garrison to celebrate LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary: Updated and Expanded, which provides detailed and annotated photography giving insight into the characters, locations, creatures, and spacecraft of the LEGO galaxy far, far away. Young Padawans will learn the ins and outs about their favorite vehicles, weapons, and minifigures such as Anakin, Yoda, Luke Skywalker, and Darth Vader. Fans of all ages will learn about every LEGO Star Wars set released while exploring cross sections that expose the inner workings of larger-piece sets such as the Death Star or Millennium Falcon.

Jason Fry is the New York Times bestselling author of Star Wars: The Clone Wars: The Visual Guide and more than twenty other books. Besides space pirates, he writes about baseball, music, travel, and anything else that strikes his fancy. He lives in Brooklyn, New York, with his wife and son.

The 501st Legion is an all-volunteer organization formed for the express purpose of bringing together costume enthusiasts under a collective identity within which to operate. The Legion seeks to promote interest in Star Wars through the building and wearing of quality costumes, and to facilitate the use of these costumes for Star Wars-related events as well as contributions to the local community through costumed charity and volunteer work. As part of the 501st Legion and the 70th Explorers Garrison, the Gateway Squad builds good relationships with local businesses, organizations, and individuals alike for mutual promotion, recruitment, and betterment of the territory.
