Munster Literature Center

Entry fee: £15 ($20 U.S. Dollars)
Prizes: 1st place £2,000 (approximately $2,690 U.S. Dollars) and publication in the literary journal, Southword, and a week-long residency at Anam Cara Writer’s and Artist’s Retreat. 2nd prize: £500 and publication in Southword and there will be four other shortlisted entries selected for publication in Southword, and they will receive £120 publication fee.
Deadline:  Entry must be post-marked on or before July 31

Open to original, unpublished, unbroadcasted short stories in the English language of 3,000 words or less, no translations acceptable. Submit as many times as you like, but each entry must be accompanied by a fee. Submit on-line, pay through PayPal. Judging is anonymous. They cannot accept U.S. Postal Money Orders. A Room of Her Own Foundation

Prizes: Four prizes of $1,000 each and publication in Los Angeles Review are given twice yearly for a poem, a short story, and an essay by women writers. Submit a poem of no more than 90 lines, a short story of up to 4,000 words, or an essay of up to 4,000 words with the entry fee.

Bard College: Bard Fiction Prize
Entry fee: There is no entry fee
Prizes: a prize of $30,000 and a one-semester appointment as writer-in-residence at Bard College is given annually to a U.S. fiction writer under the age of 40. The recipient must give at least one public lecture and meet informally with students, but is not expected to teach traditional courses.
