The 2011 Nilsen Literary Prize for a First Novel
On August 24, 2011 | 0 Comments

The Nilsen Literary Prize for the Novel was created to identify and publish fiction novels of high literary quality by authors who have not previously published a full-length novel, novella, or collection of closely linked short stories. Submission is open to unpublished novelists who are U.S. residents writing in English.

The Prize includes a $1,000 award, publication and international distribution by Southeast Missouri State University Press, and an invitation to read at the University’s book launch.

Manuscripts submitted to the contest will be read and judged anonymously. A final judge will choose the winning manuscript from a pool of finalists.

All entries must be postmarked by November 1, 2011, and accompanied by a $25 reading fee.
